Melvin Gordon finally looked good

Melvin Gordon’s first year with the Broncos has left much to be desired. But on Sunday night, he ran the ball quite well and looked like a much different, hungrier player.

Gordon ran for over 100 yards for just the second time this season, gaining 131 yards on just 15 carries, an average of nearly nine yards per tote. Since the last time he ran for over 100 yards all the way back on October 1 against the New York Jets, he’s gone north of 50 yards just twice before this game.

It still remains to be seen what the Broncos plan to do at the running back position next season, but if they can get this kind of performance out of Gordon more often, it would take so much pressure off of Lock.

Gordon still has a fresh pair of legs and the kind of talent to be effective in the league and if he can use the momentum of this performance to turn in another two or three solid outings in the next four weeks, then the Broncos will go into the offseason feeling much better about signing him as a free agent than they likely have for most of this season.
