As the Broncos set to face off against the Chiefs, I chat with Tori Petersen and get her takes on Denver.

Last week was a tough one for Broncos Country. But, in my opinion, it was a game that there was very little hope for victory, Denver went out there and did all they could. But it was not meant to be, especially given the circumstances.

But it is a new week for the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, it will not be an easy week for the team as they travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. It will be the final time these two teams face off in 2020. Kansas City hasn’t lost to Denver since week two of the 2015 season. They are the defending Super Bowl Champs.

Broncos Country will be in for a long night. But there is always hope. Any Given Sunday, they say. However, all we can do is hope.

Let us get to this week’s fanzone. This week, I sat down with Tori Petersen, who is a very knowledgeable fan. Here is what she had to say about the state of the Broncos.

Ty: The Broncos suffered a tough loss to the Saints. Is there anything that stood out to you the most in that game besides the lack of QBs?

Tori: It feels like a burn the tape game. What stood out to me was the way the team came together. Hopefully, it was a galvanizing moment. Our team really showed how they loved each other and came together where others would have just given up in that situation. To play a game without a quarterback shows how much potential this team has in the future.

Ty: What is your honest opinion on how the NFL handled the situation regarding the Broncos quarterbacks?

Tori: I am a rule follower. When I saw the initial news break, I was frustrated with the quarterbacks. But as more news came out, it is not like they were sitting in a small room with no masks. There is still some fault on Denver’s part, but the NFL kind of hurt their brand. You took away an opportunity for us.

I get the rules need to be an outbreak outside of one position group, but when that one position group is the person who touches the ball on every offensive snap, you might need to re-adjust the protocol. There was definitely fault on both sides, but the NFL got hurt the most.

Ty: The Broncos have a tough matchup against the Chiefs on Sunday. Where do you believe the Broncos can succeed to help in this game?

Tori: Obviously, offensively is where we are struggling. I know the defense is tired of carrying the offense. I do believe the defense will play a huge part. If they can hold the Chiefs to 21 points, the offense could have a chance. We do need the offense to get it together.

Ty: Which Bronco could be a key factor in the game?

Tori: Other than Phillip Lindsay, my main player/position group is inside linebacker. If Josey and AJ help on rush defense, it could really set us up. I am hopeful our linebackers can help lock it down.

Ty: How did your love for the Broncos begin?

Tori: Growing up in Colorado, my whole family is here. We are all huge Colorado sports fans. But my dad always would watch the games with me and was very supportive. My grandmother was a huge fan as well, it was a great reinforcement.
