Though the 2021 NFL draft is several months away, it’s never too early to speculate.

The Denver Broncos are coming off of a big victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and now must get ready for a red-hot New Orleans Saints squad. But for the scouting department, looking at prospects from the college ranks is a never-ending job.

If you have watched much Broncos football this year, the team’s biggest weakness is pretty clear. It’s not at quarterback and it’s not Garett Bolles. It’s not even on the offensive side of the ball.

The team that once earned the nickname the “No Fly Zone” has a glaring weakness at the cornerback position and should be targeting an upgrade at that position in the first round next spring.

Though players such as A.J. Bouye and Bryce Callahan have shown flashes, the days of having guys like Chris Harris and Aqib Talib together in the defensive backfield are long gone. Bouye and Callahan have both had injury troubles as well and neither guy should be treated as anything more than a No. 2 cornerback going into next season.

The Broncos need a true No.1 corner. A shutdown corner in today’s pass-happy NFL can be as important as any position on the field and the Broncos know what that’s like, having had Harris, Talib and Champ Bailey in orange and blue.

Here are four guys who could help solve those issues for the Broncos next season.
