1. Vic Fangio’s defense makes life hard for Taysom Hill

I mentioned it earlier, but the Denver Broncos’ defense made life really difficult for Cam Newton a few weeks ago in Gillette Stadium.

This matchup against Taysom Hill will not be exactly the same because the Saints, overall, have much better weapons than the Patriots do at the skill positions.

With that said, Hill has not played a lot of traditional quarterback in the NFL. If the Broncos’ defense can force him into doing just that, perhaps they can make life hard for him.

Against the Falcons, Hill was mostly efficient completing 18-of-23 passes with 10 carries and two rushing touchdowns. He also lost a fumble and had an interception called back on a penalty.

The opportunity should be there for the Broncos to capitalize on a couple of mistakes and, hopefully, force Taysom Hill into a situation where he’s out of his comfort zone having to do much more throwing from the pocket than he would otherwise like to.

Obviously, Hill is not a hack and he proved that against the Falcons, but the film is out there on him now and Vic Fangio is one of the best game-to-game defensive schemers in the league.
