Denver Broncos: 5 studs in victory over Miami Dolphins.

The Denver Broncos have had some great moments in the 2020 season, and plenty of low moments as well. Their home game against the Miami Dolphins was one of those great moments and quite possibly one of the most well-rounded victories for the team over the last two seasons.

Turnovers still hurt the Broncos and nearly cost them very dearly.

An early interception from Drew Lock resulted in the first seven points of the game for the Miami Dolphins, while a late fumble by Melvin Gordon as he was one yard shy of the end zone for a touchdown wound up giving the Dolphins a chance to tie the game at 20 apiece instead of the Broncos likely winning 27-13.

In the end, it was a 20-13 victory for the Broncos despite those two turnovers, thanks to a turnover created by the defense. Justin Simmons picked off a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass in the end zone after having an interception called back earlier in the game and nearly picking off another.

Simmons’ big play was the cherry on top of a tremendous outing by the Denver defense which resulted in Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa being benched for grizzled veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Even with some clear bruises, this game was very good on the whole for the Denver Broncos with strong play through all four quarters in all three phases of the game.

Here are the five “studs” from this victory, which put the Broncos to 4-6 on the season.
