Vic Fangio is…. well, pretty bad

Again, we can make all the excuses that we want, but it’s hard to ignore what we see. And what we see is that as a head coach, Vic Fangio is just not the right guy. He’s not even close.

Fangio has been criticized for things such as his clock management, but that’s only the beginning of the issues. His team is wildly inconsistent and he often just looks lost and way over his head, despite decades on the sideline in some form or fashion.

Fangio was a hot name when he was hired by John Elway, but those who argued that there was a reason he had been an NFL coach since the 1980s and not offered a head coach position for a reason were on to something.

He’s not an NFL head coach.

Fangio is a great linebackers coach. He’s a fantastic defensive coordinator. Those are things that he has proven across his career. But he’s flopped as a head coach and it’s hard to imagine how any fan of the team could have confidence in this guy as the leader.

Much like the quarterback position, you don’t want to keep turning over the head coach. But you also can’t keep a guy around simply because you don’t want to make another move so soon.

The Broncos are not going to win with this guy and they need to go in  different direction following the season by bringing in a creative, offensive-minded guy, such as the ideas for candidates on this list.

Broncos fans could not wait for Vance Joseph to be shown the door, and rightfully so. But truthfully, this guy might be even worse.
