The Denver Broncos used their second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft on Walker in hopes that he could bring his pass rush abilities to a defensive line that had lost some key pieces from the Super Bowl 50 team.

Walker has certainly flashed in his four seasons with the Broncos, but he hasn’t become a full-time player. Part of that is due to the fact that in his rookie season, Vance Joseph made him play outside linebacker (a huge mistake) and then benched him for not making enough plays on “teams” (special teams).

An entire season of Walker’s NFL career was basically wasted before he saw the field more in 2018. When Vic Fangio was hired in 2019, Walker set career marks with four sacks and five tackles for loss.

In 2020, he’s playing the most he ever has in his NFL career (injuries are partly why), logging 25 percent of the defensive snaps so far this season.

Although Walker has been solid depth for Denver’s defensive line, he is more likely to find a home on another team as a rotational player in 2021.
