Brian Daboll

Current role: Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator

A name that should absolutely be considered in any coaching search in 2021 is that of Brian Daboll, a guy who has worked his way up the ranks and is ready for the next level.

Daboll has been in coaching for over 20 years and has worked under both Nick Saban and Bill Belichick. He is currently the offensive coordinator of the Bills where he has not only made the offense of that team relevant, but he has also done wonders for their young quarterback, Josh Allen.

If the Bills make the playoffs again, which looks likely, both of the team’s coordinators — Daboll and Leslie Frazier — will get looks from other teams.

The Broncos should be most interested in Daboll for what he has done for Allen, as he could then hopefully help take Lock to that next level. In fact, any coach brought in to replace Fangio should be brought in with helping to take Lock to the next level as the primary focus.

The talent with Lock is there, the team just needs the right coach to bring it out of him. Allen had many doubters when he entered the league and even after his rookie season, many of them were still doubters. Now that he is in year three, those doubters are becoming a lot quieter.

For all of his great experience combined with his recent success, Daboll would be a great candidate to potentially be Denver’s next head coach.
