Todd Monken

Current role: Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator

It would be a surprise to see Elway and Co. pursue a guy like Todd Monken, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen.

Monken is currently coaching in the college ranks as offensive coordinator at Georgia, but he has plenty of experience at the pro level and a coaching career that has spanned the last 30 years. He has helped turn programs around as well, including taken a Southern Mississippi team from 0-12 to 9-5 in just three seasons.

Monken has worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL and he has built a solid reputation among his peers.

Monken is known for his offensive mind, one that prefers to air it out and throw the football. That could benefit a guy like Drew Lock, who many fans feel has been hamstrung this season by Pat Shurmur’s more conservative style.

Monken would certainly be a name that would come from off the radar, but all options should be considered and if the Broncos are looking for a good offensive mind, Monken fits the bill. He is the kind of coach who has enough experience to lead a young, rebuilding franchise.
