Denver Broncos: Drew Lock has become an easy guy to like
Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock has become an easy guy to root for.
After rallying his team for an incredible victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday with an amazing fourth quarter, Drew Lock has been among the most trendy topics around the league this past week.
Lock has had plenty of praise heaped on him for the performance, even if the rest of the game was pretty bad. But one member of the national media has made it clear that he is not a fan of Lock, which he made clear in this drivel-filled segment (video) on his show.
Colin Cowherd stated that he is down on Lock for his decision to dance following the team’s game-winning touchdown against the Chargers. He continues that he is always right about this subject and that Lock is not “cool” like Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers.
Pfft.
This is an absolutely ridiculous take. For Cowherd to be seriously knocking a guy for putting on a little dance after the plays he made is comical. But the worst part is that he’s not kidding.
For hos part, Lock was asked about Cowherd’s comments and he made it clear that he doesn’t plan to stop dancing. Good for him.
Lock has been one who is not afraid to show some personality in his short time in the league. There’s the clip of him rapping to a Young Jeezy song on the sideline. Then he showed off his Buzz Lightyear touchdown celebration in a game last season.

Maybe this isn’t for everyone (guys like Cowherd), but it is pretty cool to see. Broncos fans should be embracing Lock’s personality because it’s been awhile since the team had a quarterback that they could truly get behind.
Trevor Siemian had a fun underdog story, but he was pretty boring and it was clear his career would have a short shelf life, at least as a starting quarterback. Case Keenum wasn’t anything to write home about. Paxton Lynch, on top of being a massive draft bust, seemed hard to like and Joe Flacco seemed really difficult to like. I may just hold that touchdown pass that went over Rahim Moore’s head in the 2012 season over his head though.
Lock is different. He is a player the team used a high draft pick on. The fact that he’s not afraid to show that he’s having some fun on the field is not a bad thing, even if Cowherd is telling you that quarterbacks are not supposed to be cool.
Keep it up, Drew. Most fans out there are going to realize that you dancing after a touchdown and not being afraid to show some personality is a good thing.
