Round 3, Pick 77. Trevon Moehrig, S TCU

6’2″, 202 lbs

Key stats (career): 101 Tackles, 69 Solo, 3.5 Tackles-for-loss, 5 Interceptions, 17 Passes Defended, 2 Forced Fumbles, per Pro Football Reference.

Trevon Moehrig would be an excellent fit in the Denver Broncos’ secondary with Justin Simmons. Moehrig has excellent size and playmaking ability, with five career interceptions.

Moehrig makes plenty of plays around the line of scrimmage, as well as his ball-hawking skills. Both Simmons and Moehrig have very similar skillsets, allowing them to play multiple positions in the Denver Broncos’ secondary.

Trevon Moehrig can also play in “Dime” packages with three safeties. The Broncos’ defense could feature a two-high safety look, with Moehrig and Simmons playing deep safety, and Kareem Jackson playing around the line of scrimmage.

Overall, Moehrig would be an ideal fit with Justin Simmons once Kareem Jackson’s contract expires. Moehrig could also play with Jackson and Simmons in 2021, filling multiple roles across the defense. Vic Fangio could have plenty of fun scheming up defenses for Simmons and Moehrig for years to come.

Here’s what others have to say about Moehrig:
