Malik Reed, EDGE

When a star player gets injured, fans can only hope that the replacement player is able to pick up the slack, and Malik Reed has slowly but surely proven himself as a capable fill-in starter for the injured Von Miller.

Reed was an undrafted gem out of Nevada in 2019 whose preseason play blew Denver Broncos fans away, and he would up playing a significant role in 2019 after the injury to Bradley Chubb.

In 2020, Reed took over for Von Miller and then Jeremiah Attaochu, and he has been on fire over the past few weeks.

Reed has five sacks, six quarterback hits, six tackles for loss, and 25 total tackles in the 2020 season.

While Reed is not blowing by tackles with the regularity of Von Miller, he has made some clutch plays especially against the New England Patriots.

With a three-game sack streak heading into the Broncos’ crucial matchup on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, Reed has a chance to really entrench himself not only as a breakout player for the Broncos, but in the NFL as a whole.
