Sam Martin

Special teams have been a bit of a black eye for the Denver Broncos in recent weeks. But perhaps the one player that has been solid has been Sam Martin. He did well in the snow against the Chiefs last week despite not punting the football much. He needed to punt often while the Broncos offense was figuring things out, and it has helped out.

Martin punted six times during Sunday’s contest. But they were mostly great punts as he averaged 54.2 yards per punt. Having the ability to punt the football that long helps flip field position in a huge way. Two of his punts were touchbacks and one was downed inside the 20.

His longest punt of the game went for a booming 69 yards. As it stands, it is the longest punt by a Broncos punter since Tom Rouen had a 76-yard punt in 1998.

Hopefully, Martin continues to flip fields and help the Broncos get some wins.
