The idea of trading for Takk McKinley is something I brought up last week for the Denver Broncos, and I’m still not opposed to the idea.

McKinley is on the trade block because he has not been living up to his first-round draft status as a pass rusher.

With that being said, this season he has seven QB hits and eight pressures in just four games. You obviously want to see sack numbers to back that up with a first-round edge player, but that kind of productivity could help the Broncos.

Add in the fact that McKinley is young and could thrive in Vic Fangio’s defense, and this kind of a deal would be a fun one for the Broncos.

If he would play really well, you’d have the option of keeping him around and paying him or you could let him go to the highest bidder and recoup compensatory draft assets in 2022.

The Falcons won’t get much for a rental on McKinley, so he won’t cost much to trade for or pay. He’s in the final year of a rookie contract with the Falcons.
