Denver Broncos may not make any last-minute trades

With the trade deadline coming up very soon, the Denver Broncos may not be buyers or sellers.

It would make sense for the Denver Broncos to consider making a trade or two before the deadline comes and goes. There isn’t necessarily one perfect position on the team that couldn’t use some work.

Despite this, however, the Broncos could be set and happy with their roster as it is right now. Of course, there is bound to be some free agent/practice squad shuffling, but as for being buyers or sellers in terms of trading players, it sounds like head coach Vic Fangio and general manager John Elway may just be happy with what they have.

This does not necessarily mean that the Broncos won’t make any trades. It could very well mean that there just won’t be any big-name acquisitions or departures via trades. So, the people that have suggested that the team trades Von Miller can take a seat.

Based strictly on Jeff Driskel’s contract, they won’t be cutting him to make room for another quarterback. Brett Rypien looked fine at times. But hopefully, the team can rely on Drew Lock to remain healthy and not have to go back to their backup quarterbacks.

To be honest, this doesn’t really surprise me. While they could use some help at certain positions, such as the interior of the defensive line, they appear to be fine with their current plan. For that position, they have lost Jurrell Casey for the season but have brought back an old friend in Sylvester ‘Sly’ Williams.

On offense, the issue is that the team is just so young. While adding a veteran at a key position would be interesting, it doesn’t make a ton of sense in the long-run. Even still, they may be coming along nicely.

There have been some fundamental issues on the team this season that isn’t the result of bad players. The team has some very good players, but they just need some time to jell.

You can certainly make a case for the Broncos trying to make the team better through trade acquisitions, but it appears that that will not be the direction the team will be going.
