Tim Patrick is the team’s leading receiver

Courtland Sutton has missed just about all of the season with injury so the team has had to look elsewhere for a No.1 wide receiver. Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler were taken with the first two picks the team had in the draft, so one of them has to be the team’s leading receiver, right?

Actually no.

Hamler has been banged up and while Jeudy looks good as a rookie, Tim Patrick is actually the team’s leading receiver in both receptions (20) and yardage (310). That’s something few would have predicted.

Patrick only had 39 receptions for his entire career coming into the season and no more than 23 in a season. He is on pace to shatter that number this year as he has become a trusted target for whoever is playing quarterback for the Broncos.

He also has two touchdown receptions and 13 of his 20 catches have resulted in a first down.

That has been great news for the Broncos who have really waited for Patrick to blossom. This is his fourth year in the organization and it seems as though the team’s patience will pay off.

Meanwhile, the rookie duo of Jeudy and Hamler have combined for 23 receptions and just one touchdown thus far. Hamler has been banged up and has played in only three games.
