Will the Denver Broncos make any moves before the 2020 trade deadline?

The Denver Broncos are 2-3 heading into week seven action and a huge matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Regardless of the outcome of that game, the Broncos could look into making some moves before the trade deadline (November 3), though at this point no one really expects them to be among the big buyers.

The Broncos have eight selections in the 2021 NFL Draft — their own seven original selections plus a seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns. They have plenty of cap space beyond this season and flexibility for even more with some aging veterans or players who could be cap casualties.

Although the Broncos may not be Super Bowl contenders at this particular point in time, trades can help you reach that status. Some teams use them far more than others, but every situation is different. The last thing you want is to be a team with a ton of needs and limited draft capital because you made foolish in-season trades.

But if you believe in your roster core and have a quarterback you also believe in, draft picks can bring in valuable young assets. Look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2019 trade of Minkah Fitzpatrick or the Seattle Seahawks’ 2020 trade for Jamal Adams.

What options might the Broncos and GM John Elway consider in 2020, regardless of what the team’s record is at the deadline?
