Who on the Denver Broncos will miss Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots?

The Denver Broncos face the New England Patriots today in one of the many early slots. Therefore, their list of inactive players has been released.

If you have been keeping up with the status of the team, there is not really much surprise from the list.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel is inactive due to the return of starting quarterback Drew Lock. Driskel had started for the Broncos but with the surprising solid play by Brett Rypien, Driskel appears to be on the outside looking in.

The Broncos cut Blake Bortles recently with Lock returning. Bortles was just on the team for emergency purposes.

Defensive lineman McTelvin Agim is inactive today, presumably because of his run defense. The Broncos signed Sylvester Williams (yes, that Sylvester Williams) from the practice squad and will be in Agim’s place.

The Patriots are second only to the Browns in terms of rushing yards per game with 179.8. With Cam Newton quarterbacking the Patriots these days, it will be interesting to see if/how well the Broncos can contain the rushing attack.

Running back Melvin Gordon had been arrested for a DUI and one may think that that would be the reason for him being inactive, but he reportedly came down with strep throat.

In his place, Phillip Lindsay will be back, along with Jeremy Cox and Royce Freeman.

Wide receiver K.J. Hamler is dealing with a hamstring injury that has plagued him for a long time now. The wide receiver position is really hurting with Hamler and Courtland Sutton out. Hopefully the return of Drew Lock will soften that blow from now on.

Tight End Noah Fant has an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for today’s game. Rookie Albert Okwuegbunam will make his NFL debut today. Okwuegbunam played with Drew Lock at Missouri and I am hoping that he will have a big impact in his return.

The outside linebacker position is hurting with Jeremiah Attaochu and Von Miller out. We knew Miller was out a long time ago but the focus here is Attaochu. Attaochu is dealing with a quad injury.

Guard Netane Muti is inactive yet again but not injured. Hopefully the Broncos won’t suffer an injury at the guard position, where Dalton Risner and Graham Glasgow are handling things in the middle of the offensive line.
