With the Denver Broncos squaring off against the Patriots, where do they rank according to power rankings?

It’s been one crazy week for the Denver Broncos.

Last Sunday, they were scheduled to face the New England Patriots in a Sunday showdown. That game got postponed for Monday. Then, it got postponed for this upcoming week. All of this because of the ongoing pandemic and COVID outbreaks. Week 6 was scheduled to be Broncos-Dolphins but will be moved.

What was originally expected to be Brett Rypien vs Brian Hoyer/Jarrett Stidham will now be Drew Lock vs Cam Newton. What a difference just a couple of days makes.

The Broncos are getting healthier and Lock isn’t the only player expected to make his long-awaited return. Running back Phillip Lindsay will, too. This coming the same week that Melvin Gordon was arrested for a DUI.

Gordon came down with an illness on Friday and he will be out for this game at least. It could be several weeks, taking a possible suspension into consideration.

According to Mike Klis, Gordon was diagnosed with strep throat.

The team got cornerback A.J. Bouye and tight end Noah Fant back at practice. Bouye is doubtful for this week but Noah Fant’s chances of playing at 50-50.

With Drew Lock coming back, the team’s chances of winning this week’s game should have gone up. But while they are getting a number of key pieces back, one could argue that the Patriots are getting back players who are more likely to make a bigger impact.

Those players are Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who were on the COVID list.

Can the Broncos find a way to make the doubters turn into believers? A win against the Patriots this week would go a long way in doing so. But for now, let’s see where they rank in week six power rankings.
