Denver Broncos-Patriots postponed until next Sunday
Due to yet another positive test result in New England, the Denver Broncos will now face the Patriots next week.
The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots will have to wait another week to face off against each other.
The game has been rescheduled for next Sunday instead of this Monday night. Both teams will now have their bye week this week, and will face another opponent on their originally-scheduled bye week.
With this postponement, it appears that both teams will get their starting quarterbacks back in time. Drew Lock has been out with a shoulder injury that he suffered against the Steelers. He was listed as questionable for this game despite the first reschedule but it sounded as if Brett Rypien would end up being the starter.
Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was unlikely to play due to testing positive for COVID on October 2nd, but enough time will have passed where he will be eligible to return for this game due to the reschedule.
Some players are certain to not be happy with this postponement because of the extra practices, which makes a lot of sense. However, maybe their extra preparation will pay off with a win. It would be a lot worse if yet another player had suffered a season-ending injury while practicing for a game that wasn’t this week.
While some players aren’t too happy with it, at least one came to terms with the fact that this could happen.
The Broncos will also have running back Phillip Lindsay back in the fold for this game. He was expected to return anyways, but having a little bit more time to prepare should be very good for Lindsay.
The Broncos were expected to play the Miami Dolphins next week, but with this reschedule, that will not happen. There will be more information on that game later on.
