Stock Down

Tackling

Although the Denver Broncos would come away with a victory, they could have entirely avoided allowing the Jets’ offensive unit to score a touchdown all night. This was a brutal way for the Broncos to start out the game, even if it ended up not mattering in the end.

Sam Darnold took off for a 46-yard TD run for the Jets to jump ahead on the scoreboard early.

Darnold evaded a sack from Alexander Johnson and used his wheels to get to the endzone. On his way there, Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson both had the opportunity to bring Darnold down, but couldn’t get the job done.

The blunder was poor execution of wrapping up a tackle, and the defensive unit will need to improve their stops, especially considering that a guy like Patrick Mahomes is in the division, and will take full advantage of this potential weakness if not improved upon.
