Denver Broncos wee four stock report: Bolles up, tackling down?

Finally, after three weeks, the Denver Broncos are in the win column! The Broncos defeated the New York Jets 37-28 on Thursday Night Football in a game that truly came down to the wire, and got some blood boiling in the end.

The Broncos are sitting at 1-3, and of course, while not ideal, because the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers both suffered losses on Sunday, the Broncos don’t have as much ground to make up to get caught back up in the division.

Let’s go ahead and dive into this week’s stock report.

Stock Up

Garett Bolles, LT

Through four weeks, Garett Bolles has been one of the best and most productive players on the roster. He is currently the Broncos’ highest-graded player on PFF and is the fourth highest-ranked tackle in the NFL as of right now.

He has only been called for one penalty so far in the 2020 season, and it appears that he has finally figured things out at the professional level. However, after the 2020 season, this means that the Broncos must make a decision on Garett Bolles.

Since the Denver Broncos did not pick up Bolles’ fifth-year option, he will enter free agency, if they do not choose to retain him quickly. Also, we would be remiss if we failed to mention the loyalty that Bolles has shown his team and the quarterbacks he protects; Garett Bolles appeared to be a large part of the reason that Vic Fangio elected to head to the locker room immediately following the conclusion of the game.

Bolles was ready to fight for his QB, who had taken a barrage of dirty shots from Gregg Williams’ defensive unit.
