Jerry Jeudy could be a star

The goal is to always hot a home run with your first-round draft pick, and it certainly seems as though the Broncos may have done that with the player they chose at No. 15 overall this year, Jerry Jeudy.

Jeudy got off to a bit of a rough start, dropping two key passes in a season-opening loss to the Tennessee Titans. But even in that game, and certainly since, he has shown flashes of being great.

Jeudy is as adverstised. He runs terrific, crisp routes, has speed to burn and can make the kind of game-changing plays that you want out of a big time wide receiver.

On the year, he has caught 15 passes for234 yards. He caught his first career touchdown on this terrific play (video) last Thursday night against the Jets. It wasn’t a very good throw by Rypien, but Jeudy reached right over the top of the defender to haul it in for six points.

This is exactly the kind of play the Broncos needed to make to jumpstart the offense not only on Thursday night, but perhaps the rest of the season.

With the injury to Sutton, Jeudy will be expected to step up in a big way the rest of this season and if he can put together a solid season, he could easily be considered the team’s No.1 wide receiver as he certainly has the skills to be that.
