3. Michael Ojemudia, CB
The Denver Broncos used their top pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Iowa Hawkeyes cornerback Michael Ojemudia, a move that surprised a lot of folks who follow the pre-draft process closely.
Ojemudia was considered by many to be an early day three player, but the Broncos liked his scheme fit in Denver and made him their top defensive player taken in this particular draft class.
Although he was already supposed to factor into the rotation as a rookie anyway, Ojemudia has been thrust into a prominent role (93.5 percent of the defensive snaps) early on and he’s responded quite well, all things considered.
He has definitely had his rookie moments, but unlike other cornerbacks the Broncos have drafted in recent years, Ojemudia’s confidence has only seemed to increase.
Ojemudia has three pass breakups and some very near interceptions.
Even with some bad plays mixed in, the results have been mostly good for Ojemudia and he looks like he’s going to be a good player for a long time in this league.
