Over the course of Garett Bolles’ career, it has been filled with trials and tribulations as a member of the Denver Broncos.

However, this season the Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles is heading down a path where consistency is starting to follow. If we are even being honest, Bolles has started bucking toward that trend since the end of last season.

Bolles has looked very good and it is close to elite status every week right now. This is a welcome sight. Bolles is turning the corner and becoming a top tackle in the league.

It has never been an issue of athleticism or physical tools for the Broncos left tackle. Bolles is like every person in the world. No one is perfect in the wildest stretch of the imagination.

Through his entire career with Denver, he has been ridiculed, persecuted and hated on for performance on the football field. There are certainly areas Bolles needed to focus on to get the right to be the elite player we see right now.

One area is mental processing. As mentioned earlier, no person is wired the same or processes equally. This means coaches and players will have to adapt and adjust. The past few years for Bolles have been grueling. He is not the only one who was dealt a tough hand by the past coaching staff.

The coaching staff Bolles had prior to Vic Fangio is an argument why it was difficult to process things the way he wanted. During a season Bolles had multiple offensive line coaches. These are multiple voices in Bolles’ head potentially telling different things.

If there are many heads in a kitchen the potential for long-lasting growth can be slowed down. This is where Mike Munchak comes in. Despite starting out the 2019 season slow, Bolles finished the year on a very high note to give confidence for what we see currently in 2020.

Munchak believes in Bolles and Bolles believes in Munchak. Bolles is succeeding at the highest level and it is going in a direction to a possible payday.

Bolles is making the decisions pre-snap to be in the right place at the right time. The anticipation of Bolles is accurate, focused and a determination to win every rep. He has been a solid run blocker bringing physicality to the passing game as well.

To where every technique and skillset to beat every obstacle and every test. Bolles is already beginning down a path to begin the season with confidence. As mentioned above it is that confidence from 2019 with Munchak.

Coaching continuity brings positive changes if players believe in the foundation being created. As evidenced by Fangio’s scheme and safety Justin Simmons’ statement in 2019 players believe in a system being created. That’s all it starts with. It is a belief to bring the hope of a dark time.

Obviously, in the past, the play of Bolles could have been better, but if we all believe in Bolles as Munchak and staff do then we can see light at end of the tunnel. Right now, Bolles is looking better than he has ever been.

He is displaying a fight and willingness to be the best player on the field. For argument sake, Bolles is in that discussion.
