5. Melvin Gordon, RB

The Denver Broncos’ signing of Melvin Gordon in the 2020 offseason was met with a lot of upset fans at the idea of paying for a running back, but he’s proven to be quite a valuable addition to the Broncos in this tough 1-3 start.

Gordon, who already had a pair of touchdowns coming into the game against the Jets, added another pair of touchdowns on the ground increasing his total to four this season.

The Broncos’ offensive line had a tough time opening up running lanes for Gordon all throughout the game after the first drive, but Gordon didn’t stop fighting and wound up getting rewarded for his tremendous effort with a huge 43-yard touchdown run to seal the victory for the Broncos.

Gordon was not necessarily known for his explosive plays with the Chargers, but he has made some really big ones for the Broncos of the 15-plus yard variety.

Kudos to Gordon for fighting as hard as he has with very little in the way of running lanes. He has been exactly as advertised when it comes to putting points on the board.
