Power rankings around the NFL world

Sports Illustrated has the Broncos at the 30th spot for week 4. The two teams behind them are the New York teams, the Giants and the Jets. It’s very sad that the team’s injuries have taken a huge toll. Unfortunately, there’s no mulligan in regards to injuries.

As noted by SI, the 49ers, who are ranked 13th, have a much deeper roster that can overcome major injuries. That’s exactly what they have done.

ESPN has put the Broncos at the 28th spot after putting them at No. 24 in week 3.

At this point, it just feels like nothing has gone right at all for the Broncos. Injuries, inconsistent offensive line play, inexperience across the board.

The Broncos are starting Brett Rypien at quarterback against the Jets and that figures to be one of the bigger factors in such a low ranking.

NFL.com was significantly higher on the Broncos in week 3, but even then it was still unimpressive. In week 3, they put the team at the 23rd spot. This week? Six spots lower at 29. Injuries taking a toll is the theme once again. They mention the backup quarterback position here but don’t bring up the guy who was announced to be the starter for Thursday Night Football: Brett Rypien.

NBC Sports ranked the Broncos at 21 last week. This week, they have them 25th.

Injuries piling up. Yep. Broncos impatient with head coach Vic Fangio? I mean, it’s hard to win when you have so many injuries and not the greatest of depth on your team. Trevor Lawrence to the rescue? I personally don’t think the Broncos will be bad enough to secure the No. 1 overall pick.

Carry on.

CBS Sports has abandoned any and all hope of the Broncos this season. It’s week 4. Look, I understand. However, that’s not the mindset of anybody. This week, they’re closer to the bottom at 28. in that building. Last week, CBS Sports put the Broncos at the 24th spot.

Final thoughts

Once again, the Broncos are being doubted and they wouldn’t be doubted this much had it not been for all of the injuries. This team has the potential to be awesome. They just need all of their starters to play together.

Unfortunately, that won’t happen this year. The Broncos are just going to have to get through this rough season and see what happens. Maybe things will be different when Lock gets back. That may be a tough ask, though, since his top receiver is out for the year.

We’ll have to wait and see.
