Injuries have not been kind to the Broncos this season, but Jeff Driskel could help the team out in a bind.

It is only two games into the Denver Broncos 2020 season and the injuries have really started to pile on for this team. Perhaps the biggest injury outside of Courtland Sutton and Von Miller is to Drew Lock. He is expected to miss a good chunk of the first half of the season. Enter Jeff Driskel.

I am sure the last thing Broncos Country wanted to hear was that the starting quarterback that had so much promise going into 2020 would miss the next few weeks. Now, there are a few Broncos fans that are asking who the signal caller is that will take over for a bit.

Well, I am here to tell you why he could help out our Broncos in an unsettling time. But first, here are some facts about him.

Name: Jeff Driskel

Age: 27

NFL Seasons: Five

Career Stats: 1,688 passing yards, 13 total touchdowns (10 passing, 3 rushing), 6 interceptions

College: Louisiana Tech University

And here is a little nugget I found that made this entire situation with Driskel come full circle.

Looking at the career stats, they are not too bad. The only thing that has been hampering him during his career is the injury history. He also has not been on very strong teams. Now he gets a chance against a team that is young and can potentially make some noise.

Jeff Driskel should keep the Broncos afloat until Drew Lock returns.

I truly believe that the Denver Broncos will be just fine with him under center for a few games. He has game experience and has been working in the system during training camp, so he will know a lot more than a quarterback that is brought into Dove Valley.

Looking closer at his performance against the Steelers on Sunday, he was really solid. It took him some time, but in the second half Driskel was able to get the ball rolling. Only two drives ended with zero points for the Broncos and the team outscored Pittsburgh by nine points in the second half.

Driskel did enough to bring the team within 15 yards of winning the game. Just a few more plays and he would have done enough to give Denver their first win. I truly believe that he will help the Broncos until Lock returns. Let us see how he does with a full game.
