Denver Broncos: 7 takeaways after losing Drew Lock, game to Steelers
3. Courtland Sutton suffers a new injury
Leading up to this game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Courtland Sutton was dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of the season opener against the Tennessee Titans.
He was activated against the Steelers, and immediately got involved in the passing game, catching the lone completed pass on the day for Drew Lock for 20 yards and finishing with three catches for 66 yards in total.
Sutton showed his big play ability, but it was a drop on an incredibly easy pass from Jeff Driskel that was tipped in the air and picked off by the Steelers that proved costly in many different ways.
Not only did the drop by Sutton lead to a game-changing interception and kill a Broncos drive, but it also led to points for the Steelers but not before Sutton apparently injured his knee.
Sutton hustled to make the tackle on Joe Haden, but ultimately it was injury to insult. He hurt his knee, and Mike Klis says the team is concerned about it.
An injury to Courtland Sutton is something the Denver Broncos can ill afford with Drew Lock going down for a couple of weeks, at a minimum.
Hopefully, it’s nothing major, and he’s able to get back at it against the Buccaneers.
