Jerry Jeudy

Jeudy wasn’t terrible in his debut – he caught four passes for 56 yards and looked like a threat with the ball in his hands. But he also had two critical drops in the game and if he hauls in both of those passes, the Broncos might win that game.

That’s how big those drops were.

It’s tough to put that much on the rookie, but it simply can’t happen going forward. If you read up on any of the scouting reports on Jeudy coming out of college, drops were a problem at Alabama too.

The Broncos are going to need to rely on their first-round pick, particularly with Courtland Sutton banged up. Jeudy has  to be more reliable and as a first-round pick, he has to be able to demonstrate enough concentration to haul these passes in.

Drew  Lock needs to show confidence in the rookie and target him six to seven times in this game, looking to get him in a rhythm. Jeudy is known for his precise route running and his speed, but none of that is going to matter if he develops a reputation for dropping passes.

He needs to shake that off right now.
