Key Matchups

Malik Reed vs. Steelers offensive line

With the Steelers offensive line pretty hurt on the right side of the football, this will give Malik Reed a chance to step up and get some sacks on Big Ben. One of my biggest keys to this game will be to get pressure on Roethlisberger.

If the Broncos are able to take advantage of the right side of the football and disrupt the starters at right guard and tackle, it could be a long day for the Steelers.

Noah Fant vs. Devin Bush

I am uncertain how the Pittsburgh Steelers will cover the Broncos tight ends, but it would be fun to see the picks that both teams used when they traded in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Broncos had the tenth overall pick, but after some picks that were made decided to trade the pick away to the Steelers. In return, the Broncos would select 20th.

Pittsburgh used the tenth pick to get Devin Bush, an inside linebacker that I was really hoping Denver would get. The Broncos used the 20th pick on Noah Fant to help at tight end.

If these two cross paths, I would enjoy to see Fant make a move to make a statement.

X-Factor

Broncos – K.J. Hamler

With the Broncos banged up at the wide receiver position, there is a little glimmer of hope as K.J. Hamler will be making his pro debut on Sunday against the Steelers. How much time he will play will really depend on how well the hamstring is healed up.

But if the Broncos truly needed an explosive player to open up the field and score some points, Hamler is your guy.

Steelers – Eric Ebron

This has been an ongoing thing for quite some time, but Denver has a tough time covering the opposing tight ends. Eric Ebron could have a strong game if the team is unable to get any pressure going and Roethlisberger is able to get a quick pass out to the tight ends.

So far in his career, Ebron has amassed 3,195 yards and 27 touchdowns. His biggest year came with the Colts in 2018, where he recorded a whopping 13 touchdown receptions.

He can be a big threat to the Broncos defense if they don’t have someone on him.
