Denver Broncos top 3 offensive performers against the Titans
Honorable mention: Jerry Jeudy, WR
I know, I know — he had two dropped passes, both of critical importance.
When Jeudy was asked by the media this week what he would remember about his rookie debut 20 years from now, he simply stated, “Two drops.”
No one was more frustrated or disappointed in Jerry Jeudy’s drops than Jerry Jeudy himself, but this is a young player who deserves the safety net of making rookie mistakes.
Jeudy will be better for it.
There’s no question that Jeudy’s drops were costly but the rest of his game on Monday night, even the seconds leading up to his dropped passes, was magnificent.
Jeudy’s route running and quickness have been talked up all offseason and rightfully so. We got an absolute display of route running excellence from him on Monday night as he was consistently open and available for Drew Lock to get the ball to.
As a matter of fact, Jeudy led the entire Broncos team with eight targets on Monday night, catching four passes for 56 yards.
According to NFL.com’s NextGen Stats, Jeudy had an average of 4.6 yards of separation per target, good for eighth-best among all receivers and tight ends in the NFL.
It’s even more impressive considering Jeudy was consistently working from the slot in tighter quarters and on a lot of quicker routes.
This guy is an absolute superstar in the making.
