Denver Broncos rookie WR KJ Hamler is working towards a week two debut.
Denver Broncos rookie Jerry Jeudy dazzled with his route running in the team’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans, but had some unfortunate struggles with dropped passes. In week two, Jeudy could be joined by fellow 2020 rookie KJ Hamler, who has missed some significant time with a hamstring injury in 2020.
Hamler missed the 2020 Scouting Combine with a hamstring injury and early on in training camp he was derailed by another one.
Hamstring injuries are definitely not the type for skill position players to rush back from, especially guys who specialize in speed and quickness. Hamler has been easing back into work for the Denver Broncos in the last couple of weeks, and this week he will be a full participant in practices.

This is absolutely huge news for the Denver Broncos and an offense that struggled badly against the Tennessee Titans.
Hamler has big-time speed and quickness, and similar to Jerry Jeudy, he’s a nightmare to have to cover up at the line of scrimmage because of those traits.
Not only that, but Hamler is a monster in the open field after the catch. Despite being just 5-foot-9, Hamler showed at Penn State how good he can be after the catch and is much more physical than you would expect of a smaller receiver.
Although it would be unfair to expect Hamler to come in and rack up 150 yards for his NFL debut, his impact on the game goes beyond box score stats. Hamler’s speed is such a threat that he helps open things up for everyone else in the passing game, and his presence can keep defenses honest in the running game as well.
That will be especially critical for the Broncos against the Steelers in week two where it appears Hamler is set to make his 2020 debut.
