What’s next for the Denver Broncos?

Tragedy struck Broncos Country on Tuesday when it was revealed that face-of-the-franchise linebacker Von Miller suffered a potentially season-ending ankle injury on the last play of practice. Described as a “freak injury”, Von has been officially diagnosed with a dislocated peroneal tendon. His best-case scenario is a return in three months.

If you read Sayre Bedinger’s piece from that night, you already know that the Broncos have a few options they can pursue to try to ‘replace’ Miller  in-season. While you can’t ever replace a player of Von’s caliber, the names Sayre mentioned can help lessen the blow this season. But what about the long term?

Bradley Chubb, Denver Broncos

His contract technically runs through the 2021 season, however, that comes in the form of a club option. If the unthinkable were to happen and the team and Miller are unable to come to terms with his salary, what does the future of the team look like sans their star when we aren’t even sure of Bradley Chubb’s availability?

It may be time to start thinking about adding EDGE to the list of Denver’s needs in the 2021 draft. Who could the prospects be?
