An epic career came to an end on Wednesday with the announcement that veteran corner Aqib Talib is retiring after 12 seasons in the NFL.

After an injury ridden 2019 season with the LA Rams, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins in October, although he never played any games for the franchise.

At the time of his retirement, he was tied for most interceptions among active players, with 35.

Talib noted that he was offered a significant role with the New England Patriots for the 2020 season, but turned it down because he felt he was ready to step away from football.

“Aqib Talib is officially retired, and I’m bringing my talents to the booth. Football gave me so much in life”, he said in his farewell video posted to his social media platforms on Wednesday morning.

Broncos Country knows just how entertaining Aqib Talib will be in the booth and on his podcast he will be starting. He will be missed around the league.

Of his 12 seasons in the NFL, Talib spent four of those seasons with the Denver Broncos, and those years in Denver were arguably the best of his career.

We give Super Bowl 50 champion Aqib Talib a Mile High Salute, and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
