Jurrell Casey being traded to Denver was one of the offseason’s most underrated moves.
The Denver Broncos got a steal this offseason when they sent a seventh-round pick to the Tennessee Titans for defensive lineman Jurrell Casey. In Week 1, Casey just happens to be going up against his former team.
It’s a tasty matchup too.
The Titans are going to do what they do. They are going to use last year’s rushing champion, Derrick Henry, to run right at the Broncos. Casey will be on the other side, looking to slow him down.
The Broncos may also need to rely on Casey as an early leader on defense with Von Miller out for the foreseeable future.

After being selected to five straight Pro Bowls, will Casey be motivated that his former team gave him up for so little? Players are usually eager to stick it to their old teams and in this situation, Casey gets a chance to do it right off the bat.
With Miller out, Casey should be one of the most exciting players to watch on defense this season. The nine-year pro has 51 career sacks.
The Broncos will need players to step up on defense to match the physicality and intensity of the Titans’ offense in this game. Casey will be among the main guys who need to do that for Denver, particularly in this game.
The Titans were one of the league’s hottest teams toward the end of last season and they even held a lead against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Casey knows as well as anyone what helped lead that team’s charge, so he will be a key factor in this one.
Hopefully, Casey is up to the challenge and makes a major impact in this game. If the Broncos are to win this game, Casey will likely need to make a couple of big plays.
