Week 13:  Kansas City Chiefs- Graham Tiedtke

The Chiefs have had the Broncos’ number for a while now, but Denver did come out victorious for the first time earlier in the year. Denver lost both times to the Chiefs last season and it really wasn’t close. Even after they knocked Patrick Mahomes out, they still struggled against the backup quarterback.

We know exactly who Mahomes is at this point.

The Chiefs added running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he figures to get the bulk of the Chiefs’ carries as Damien Williams opted out of the 2020 season.  I don’t think Edwards-Helaire will necessarily gain a ton of rushing yards.  The Broncos were dominant in the run game later in the 2019 season when they inserted Mike Purcell and Alexander Johnson into the starting lineup.

This is going to be an offensive battle. The Chiefs will have Chris Jones on the defensive line, which will surely be a huge problem for the Broncos’ offensive line. He’s bound to gain a sack or two.

The Broncos went to the draft to match Kansas City’s offensive formula: speed.  They added Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler at wide receiver and Albert Okwuegbunam at tight end.

I strongly believe that both teams will get a lot of points in this one. But Kansas City will come out on top, evening the season series.

Final Score:  Broncos 31  Chiefs 38
