Denver Broncos options to replace Von Miller for 2020 season

3. Clay Matthews

Clay Matthews just turned 34 in May, which is likely a big part of the reason he’s still on the free agent market, but he might be — statistically, anyway — the top option currently available to the Denver Broncos.

Matthews was with the Los Angeles Rams last season, and he racked up eight sacks, 28 quarterback pressures, and 11 quarterback hits in 13 games.

Matthews has 91.5 career sacks and from 2009-14, he was truly one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.

His play had fallen off considerably with Green Bay, but he had a really nice bounce-back season with the Rams last year and could perhaps be effective in a rotation with the other guys the Broncos currently have.
