Denver Broncos: Biggest developments from 2020 roster cuts

4. Essang Bassey the latest UDFA success story
It cannot be overstated what an accomplishment it is for Essang Bassey to be on the Broncos’ initial 53-man roster.
Bassey was a pretty high-profile player coming out of Wake Forest, but he lacked size to be an outside corner and likely being limited to the nickel in the NFL, he went undrafted.
After going undrafted, the NFL canceled OTAs and preseason games, so Bassey had one shot — training camp practices — to really make the team.
He did it.
In the weirdest NFL offseason you’ll ever likely see, he managed to keep the Broncos’ proud tradition of undrafted players making the team going.
Bassey recently got reps with the top defense and the team clearly has plans for him contributing sooner rather than later.
