Trade 1: DL DeMarcus Walker & Day 3 pick swap for DL Taven Bryan

The Denver Broncos have not gotten the return on investment from former second-round pick DeMarcus Walker that they had hoped for, but they could still potentially get some value for him or from him.

At this point in time, Walker doesn’t appear to be a ‘lock’ for the final roster with the emergence of Dre’Mont Jones and the presence of McTelvin Agim, a 2020 third-round pick.

If that’s the case, the Broncos could send a player in Walker to the Jaguars who would be back in the state of Florida where he played his college ball and get back a 2018 first-round pick in Taven Bryan who also hasn’t quite lived up to expectations so far in Duval.

If the Jaguars are truly having a tank fire sale, then Bryan should be available for a reasonable price.

I like this deal for a few reasons.

Adding Bryan now would give him a chance to work with defensive line coach Bill Kollar and Vic Fangio, who have done a tremendous job overall of developing defensive linemen through the years.

You also would be getting a player with two years of control in exchange for a guy with just one, and someone who might not play a significant role on your defense this year.

If Walker isn’t going to be playing much, it would make sense to shop him around the league and see if you could get something in return. A player like Bryan could add depth to your line not only this year, but potentially give you a starter next year, too.
