Denver Broncos rookies Justin Strnad and Michael Ojemudia are dealing with injuries.

The Sunday practice for the Denver Broncos has added more injuries to what has seemed to be an injury-riddled week, now adding rookie linebacker Justin Strnad and cornerback Michael Ojemudia to the tally.

Players such as Von Miller, Todd Davis, KJ Hamler, and others have already missed time at training camp due to injury.

Strnad left practice early on Sunday after sustaining a wrist injury. Head coach Vic Fangio said after practice that he didn’t have any immediate update on it.

The extent of Strnad’s wrist injury is unknown, but if it is serious, Strnad could miss a lengthy amount of training camp. This would be a big disappointment to both Strnad and the team, considering the huge opportunity that opened up for Strnad to showcase his skills with the injury to Todd Davis.

With Davis’ contract expiring following the 2020 season, amid doubts that he will not be resigned, it is vital for the Denver Broncos to solidify the linebacker position. Strnad, with a sudden increase in reps, has impressed Fangio so far.

As for cornerback Michael Ojemudia, there is a more solid timetable on his injury. Ojemudia was sat the entire practice on Sunday due to a quadriceps injury, and Fangio also addressed his status when meeting with the press on Sunday, saying he would be out at least a week, maybe more than that.

While Ojemudia is in the mix with likes of Isaac Yiadom, De’Vante Bausby, and Davontae Harris for the third cornerback position, it will hurt him to miss any time with such a tight competition.

Ojemudia impressed early at Broncos camp, but he will have to fight hard to earn a starting position, especially with Yiadom, Bausby, and Harris all touting NFL experience.

With no preseason games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, any time missed in training camp puts a rookie at a disadvantage to display their talents. Here’s to hoping these two young men heal up and get back on the field fast.
