Most interceptions in a game
The NFL has had 14 instances of a player having four interceptions in one game, accomplished by 13 different players. Three of those 13 guys have had four interceptions in one game while wearing a Broncos jersey.
Goose Gonsoulin was the first player in league history to ever have four interceptions in one game, stealing the ball four times against the Buffalo Bills on September 18, 1960, during Denver’s inaugural season in the AFL.
Willie Brown did it again four years later against the New York Jets. Though Brown is much more well known for his time with the Raiders, he did begin his career with the Broncos.
It took 37 years before a Broncos player would have four interceptions in a game again, but Deltha O’Neal was able to do it in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs in October 2001. He caught four passes thrown by Trent Green on that day.
Since then, only one player (DeAngelo Hall in 2010) has done what O’Neal was able to do.
While it has happened 14 times, having a four-interception game is a rare feat but it’s worth mentioning that the Broncos were responsible for three of those.
