Nate Holley is the CFL’s reigning Most Outstanding Rookie after a season with the Calgary Stampeders in which he led the league with 100 total tackles.

Holley was an undrafted free agent out of Kent State in the 2017 NFL Draft and was initially picked up by the Minnesota Vikings.

After his stint with the Vikings, he got another shot with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2018 offseason.

The CFL tracks special teams tackles, and Holley had 22 special teams tackles, which could certainly help him get his foot in an NFL door.

In addition to his 100 total tackles, Holley picked off a pass, recovered a fumble, and had a sack.

He got plenty of reps dropping into coverage, and because the CFL uses a wider field, he obviously had more ground to cover than he would in the NFL.

With his ability to contribute on defense and special teams, he might be a worthwhile flyer for the duration of training camp.
