Prediction: Josh Watson is a breakout player

The Broncos brought up Josh Watson off the practice squad for a few games last season to get his feet wet on special teams, and I think there’s a real chance he could make a case for a roster spot to open the 2020 season.

Watson certainly has a tough road ahead.

Not only do the Broncos have two starters established in Alexander Johnson and Todd Davis, but they also have tested depth in Josey Jewell and a special teams ace in Joe Jones.

The Broncos also used a fifth-round pick on Wake Forest’s Justin Strnad, someone who could very well be the coverage linebacker Broncos Country has been clamoring for for years.

Watson is going to have to steal someone’s roster spot but he has the athletic ability, size, and three-down potential to do it.
