Denver Broncos: Trade ideas team can target before 2020 season
Riley Reiff, OT, Minnesota Vikings
Like Nate Solder, Riley Reiff was less effective last season than years past. Also, like Solder, Reiff’s current team drafted a tackle high in the draft with the Minnesota Vikings selecting Erza Cleveland in the 2nd round of this year’s draft.
For the Vikings, Reiff produced a PFF 71.2 overall grade in 2019, but could and has played better in years past. Reiff potentially fills a void at tackle the Broncos have felt since Ryan Clady’s injuries derailed his play.
As discussed, Reiff could be a potential replacement for either James or Bolles if the team didn’t feel confident in their tackle situation.
Reiff could be had for a good price in a trade if Cleveland shows early promise for Gary Kubiak’s offense.
Reiff’s ability to play left tackle and his veteran experience lead me to believe he could line up on the right side, which could bring a lot of value to the Broncos team still looking for solid options outside options on the line for 2020.
A day three selection would be fair considering the contract in return ($13 million total, $9 million for Denver if they take him on before the season).
