4. DaeSean Hamilton, WR
Going into training camp, everyone is going to be expecting big things of course from Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and KJ Hamler, but don’t forget about DaeSean Hamilton.
Hamilton was one of Drew Lock’s favorite targets down the stretch of the 2019 season, and for all of the talk of Jerry Jeudy’s route running prowess, let’s not forget that Hamilton is a tremendous route runner from the slot in his own right.
Hamilton had a pretty rough sophomore campaign and first year in Rich Scangarello’s offense. A dropped touchdown against the Raiders in week one was detrimental to his rapport with Joe Flacco, and Flacco didn’t look Hamilton’s way too much after that.
Watching the tape, Hamilton is open quite often for as little as he got the ball last season. Now, his dropped passes were a bit of an issue that needs to be corrected, but early on in 2020 training camp, Hamilton is entering his third season with the added motivation of new players coming in at his position, and the clock ticking on his opportunity to play a significant role in Denver.
I am predicting Hamilton has a huge start to training camp. Drew Lock is going to take note of the fact that Hamilton is almost always open and I can see him being a significant contributor to the offense this year despite all of the new incoming players.
