Denver Broncos special teams coordinator Tom McMahon should be in danger of losing his job.

NFL coaches being fired every year is as guaranteed in life as death and taxes.

As the proverbial Black Monday comes around, fans everywhere are wondering if their favorite team’s staff will get axed in the name of improvement.

Sadly, franchise success is rarely achieved by handing your coach their walking papers year after year with the hope that his replacement will be better.

It’s because of this that I rarely advocate for a coach to be fired after one season. They need at least an additional season to turn things around before being labeled as a coaching bust.

When Tom McMahon took over as the Denver Broncos special teams coordinator in 2018 following Brock Olivo’s stint, legendary punter Pat McAfee gave him a glowing review on Twitter.

It seemed like the Broncos had finally found the answer to the woefully inept special teams play that had plagued them.
