Netane Muti, OG

2020 expectation: Redshirt

The Broncos used a sixth-round pick on Fresno State offensive guard Netane Muti knowing full well his development process would be a lengthy one.

Muti played both tackle and guard at Fresno State but pretty much everyone anticipates he’s going to be developed as a guard in the NFL.

The interesting note on that is, the Broncos seemingly have their guard position locked in for the foreseeable future with Dalton Risner and Graham Glasgow. Where does Muti fit in?

I think for the 2020 season, we’re going to see Muti redshirted. Will he go on the PUP list/IR to start the year? Will he be on the 53-man roster and simply inactive on gameday as the Broncos have done with developmental offensive linemen in the past?

I’m not certain.

If Muti is healthy enough to play, it will be fascinating to watch his development on a daily basis. I am eager to hear reports of what he can do at training camp with his brute strength and athletic ability.

The Broncos’ focus has to be on getting Muti healthy enough physically to be a contributor down the road, and getting him working with Mike Munchak and Chris Kuper on technique.
