Denver Broncos: Expectations for every rookie in 2020
Jerry Jeudy, WR
2020 expectation: WR2 sooner rather than later
The Denver Broncos used their 2020 first-round pick on the 2018 Biletnikoff Award winner, the nation’s best route runner, Jerry Jeudy.
Jeudy played primarily out of the slot last season for the Crimson Tide but has experience lining up all over the formation.
In his first season with the Broncos, Jeudy will be expected to be not just a contributor to the offense, but a major piece of it.
My expectation for Jeudy? He should be the team’s WR2 sooner rather than later.
Courtland Sutton is the unquestioned alpha in the Broncos’ receiver room, but there’s no reason to think Jeudy is going to be hidden in his shadow or anything like that.
Jeudy has the ability to separate from any type of defensive back, and I think that skill will make him one of Drew Lock’s favorite targets very early on.
There have been rumblings of Jeudy getting some work in with Lock over the course of the past few months, and hopefully, the two have already started building chemistry and timing together.
Jeudy is going to be a rookie of the year candidate in my opinion and having so much talent around him takes a bit of the pressure off.
