2020 expectation: Crack the roster as a special teams ace

When looking over the Broncos’ 2020 NFL Draft class, you can’t help but wonder how Tyrie Cleveland fits in.

The Broncos had already used their top two picks in the class on receivers, and Cleveland seemed like a random throw-in to the class or maybe as someone the team felt wouldn’t choose them as a priority undrafted player.

That may have been true, but the fact that the Broncos selected Cleveland says something about him, and digging further into this kid as a player, you can see why the Broncos brought him in.

Cleveland is one of the best special teams players in the 2020 NFL Draft class, and he’s proven that over and over again.

The Broncos need speed for their coverage units and Cleveland can certainly bring that to the table, and he’s also proven he can return kicks.

Factor in his size, speed, and athleticism, and I think Cleveland stands a chance to make the roster first for special teams and down the line as a contributor to the offense.
